Who we are
Cavenaghi & Ridolfi is a century-old company that has seen three generations succeed one another, not only of the founding members but also of employees.
Cavenaghi & Ridolfi is now managed by Giovanni Cavenaghi and Carlo Ridolfi and the fourth generation works in the company.
Hydraulic presses since 1922
Cavenaghi & Ridolfi was established on May 1, 1922 by two founding partners, Giovanni Cavenaghi and Giuseppe Ridolfi.
At that time, the business was chiefly run as a machine shop, afterwards moving into machine tool repair.
With the experience thus gained, the company designed and manufactured its first hydropneumatic presses for hot-molded thermosetting materials such as Bakelite, urea and melamine in 1933, soon becoming one of the leaders in the sector; unusually for the time, a sizable portion of the company’s output was exported to the Brazilian and Argentine markets.
Three generations who made history
In 1958, the founders’ sons Gian Ambrogio Cavenaghi and Armando Ridolfi took the reins, ushering in an era of technical advancement as the company continued to master recently introduced technologies. Building on new developments in hydraulic power, the company designed a series of drawing presses, concentrating its attention on stainless steel forming equipment.
In 1973, the business was reorganized as a joint-stock corporation, Cavenaghi & Ridolfi S.p.A.
Cavenaghi & Ridolfi is now managed by Giovanni Cavenaghi and Carlo Ridolfi, the third generation of the founders. One of the things that makes us unique is that Cavenaghi & Ridolfi has not only been family-operated for three generations, we also have employees whose families have been with us for three generations.
During the eighties, the new generation benefited from a further burst of innovation as computerized design and production management systems were introduced along with standard corporate management procedures.
Our strenghts
In the last decade, production has been increasingly oriented towards special high-tech machines integrated with automated load and unload systems, making sure that we can offer our customers a total technology transfer partnership in order to achive more high quality and reliable products.
In 2007 we have developed together with company IMV Presse the automation division SKADY SMARTAUTOMATION in which we design and realize destackers, transfer with 2 or 3 axis, linear feeders and robotics. This in order to give to the customers an all-around service.
In 2008 we have promoted and realized the Companies Network FORMITALY this always with the aim to give an integrated support to the customers.
New directions
The company is at the beginning of the handover phase from the third to the fourth generation which is already carrying out evaluations both internal and external to the organization with the aim of pushing C&R in new directions through the consolidation, formalization and improvement of processes.
